Wolves have always been a questionable species. The presence of extinction has long tainted their blood; death just around the corner. It was always a debate between humans whether or not the animals should be hunted down and killed, or allowed to roam free. The humans believed wolves to be the source of all their problems; even if it was unmistakably the humans own fault. And when the wolves’ population began to decrease the few humans who believed wolves to be good began their search.
The search began with four people who wished for the wolves to be able to thrive without the fear of humans. They wanted to replenish the wolf population because they believed that the animals had been wronged. And so, these four people gathered a small group of wolves from the United States and Canada, hoping that they would save their species. But along with wanting the wolf population to thrive once more, the humans also wanted to learn more about the species. For several months the group of wolves was placed in an artificial environment and a close watch was kept over them. A series of tests were performed on some of the wolves and whether or not these tests affected the wolves is unknown.
Near the end of their third month in captivity, some of the wolves began to act aggressively towards their own kin as well as humans. Afraid that the others would find out about their failure, all of the wolves that they had been studying were shipped off to an island just south of Kodiak Island. Near it, the humans who were interested in helping the wolves, settled on another, smaller island, where they created a town, Tomori. Every now and then new wolves are brought to the island (Later named Kassatsu) from parts of Canada and the United States. Most often times these wolves are from Alaska. Humans will travel to the island in order to check up on the wolves and document any new changes in behavior but they are forced to leave when the wolves learn of their presence.
Taken from the inhumane slaughter they once suffered, the wolves have been given another chance at life. Everything that you do in this RPG affects the future of the Kassatsu wolves.
