She knew he was not far behind her. Bounding through the melting snow, for spring was close in coming, she made a dash for the shelture of the canopy. And to the den sites of the heirm of hare. Baby rabbits, aging with the seasons, played about unwittingly. However, it was the adults that Kida had her eyes set upon.
It was a tough disision to make. Kill the babies, so that the adults will breed again.. Or kill the adults and wait for the babies to grow and breed. Never did a predator want the food source to die out, so this choice wasn't an easy one to make. Waiting anxiously, she waited for Kane with her gums saturated.

Daedalus crouched not far away in the shadows, his bright orange pelt gleaming against the crystalline snow. He too had his eye on the hares. Deer was not enough food for an adult male Siberian tiger. The male needed more. He decided to pursue the babies, for they were slower and easier to kill. The adults would breed again, and if he killed the adults, they wouldn't be able to teach the babies how to survive to adulthood, and they would die of the cold.
A silent pounce left him hanging in the air for half a second before landing roughly in the snow and closing his jaws on three of the baby rabbits. He held them all in his mouth at once, breaking their necks with his teeth. He closed his lips, manuevering inside his mouth for a moment before spitting out three immaculate skeletons, thoroughly cleaned, and three pelts. Then, with a great swallow, the carcasses disappeared down his throat and satisfied his hunger. This was when Daedalus recognized the other tiger crouching nearby. It was that tigress, the little pest! He realized that this was his chance to carry out his plan. With a snarl, he leapt into the air, landing right in front of her. "I've been meaning to speak with you, small one." His voice echoed loudly, causing snow to fall off a nearby tree. Daedalus circled the tigress slowly, never taking his fiery red eyes off of hers. Pity it isn't summer, he thought to himself.

She was at the edge of her seat, desprite to lunge forward after the mother hare that hoped oh so close to her paws. Well, it wasn't too close, as she was hidden behind a boulder. But still, her hunger ebbed her on. But, no. She would wait for Kane. Just then, she started as the great siberian tiger loamed forward, taking away her much needed meal. Her heart sinking, she was about to turn away untill he pursued her; blocking her way.
"I've been meaning to speak with you, small one." Her eyes narrowed at this voice. Unsheathing her fangs, she lifted her lips up in a snarl. Tail slitely puffed and hackels fully extended, she held her ground. "Oh really? And what is it you want, Senor? Other than harass me and attempt to intimidate me."

Eagerly, the stag bounded forth, gait quick and agile. He skid to a hault, seeing the stag circling Kida, in a threatning posture. He growled. Kissers pulled back, ivories beared. A deep snarl was retrieved from his vocals, casting out upon the land. It echoed, he stepped forward. 'Get away from her.' He snarled, vocals strong, and loud. He moved infront of Kida, plume whipping his sides angrily. Auds pinned, bod poised to attack the other male.

Daedalus smirked, eyes narrowed coldly. He stopped immediately in front of her, his face, large and looming, a whisker-length from hers. "No. You aren't worth it." He replied cooly, staring unblinking into the depths of her eyes. One of the male's secret weapons was his appearance. Although large and intimidating, he had inherited his mother's good looks. This proved to be quite useful to lure unwitting females into his grasp. But he didn't want that. Especially from this pitiful excuse for a leader. Daedalus began circling again, making sure that she didn't escape. "Land. I want land. These lands." He growled, and his tail lashed violently. He stopped again, in front of her face, shoulders bunched, ready to attack if she decided to high tail it.

Gingerly she steped forward, gently pushing Kane out of the way. Though she appriciated his help, she was the queen. It was time for her to take that position. Tossing him a look that seemed to say, "I can handle this", she stood her ground against the monster.
Now, she held her head high; snout nearly touching his. Her fangs bared and her fur flying in the wind, she spoke slowly. "The lands to the south are mine. The lands to the north are my brother's. But these lands have and never will have a ruler. Not while we live." Snarling she stood ready for the blow. Silently, she prayed. "Lord Arken, if I die today, grant me passage into the Dark Forest."

Such dignity. Such bravery. Such foolishness this tigress had. She was proud and probably deserved to die with a single bat of Daedalus's massive mit. But the siberian tiger couldn't bring himself to do it. He didn't know why, but he let her live. He would just scratch her up a bit, just to scare the dung out of her.
Daedalus shook his head chidingly, lifting a forepaw and unsheathing two razor-sharp claws. He examined them casually, as if trying to build the suspense as to what he would do. There were no quick slashes, no pounding her over the head, no breaking her neck or anything. Daedalus slowly and silently moved his paw through the air, suspended before the beautiful tigress's face. Then, he rested both claws between her ears, and dragged them straight down to her nose, hoping that it would break the skin and be rather painful. "Pity," He said levely. "It's always sad when cultures change." Without warning, he lifted his paw into the air, all claws unsheathed and gleaming in the sun, and brought it down with a force only a siberian tiger can display. He aimed for her shoulder, and hoped that it would gouge her severely.

With a cry that peirced the held-fast silence she had kept untill his final show of strength, Kida fell to the ground. Blood saturated her beautiful pelt- the pain; unbearable. However, she was alive. This fact alone worked against the mighty monster. Even now, as she forced herself to her paws, her eyes sparked with inner strength. She wanted to, at that moment, lunge forward. However, she knew better. Even with Kane's aid, the siberian would easily out power them. Without her full stamina, her inability to gain the momentum she needed for speed would vastly be infavor with him.
No, she stood there; glaring daggers. Her voice held steady, she spoke for her brother. "Never will you take our land. Not peacefully." Turning her back to him, she nodded to her companion and set out at a slow pace. Not to her lands.. But to Diago.

"Then I won't take it peacefully."
The thrill of the fight had filled the siberian's mind. He could not control himself. With a blurr of orange and black, he leapt into the air and landed next to the tigress, snarling with a fire blazing in his eyes. Gathering the muscles bunched in his massive shoulders, he gave Kida a powerful shove, hoping it would knock her to the ground. He then lifted his forepaw and rested it tenderly on her throat, ears flat against his head, eyes narrowed maliciously. Then, a rare moment happened.
Daedalus opened his mouth and released a roar that could be felt vibrating in his paws. Birds fled through the air, rabbits darted into their burrows without hesitation. A butterfly, gorging itself with nectar nearby, dropped to the ground, dead as a doornail. "These lands are mine now." His rumbling voice was cold and seething. "Make yourself scarce."

At first, she struggled against his bulk. Then, once she felt how lightly he had his paw on her, she relaxed. "Take them then. But enter my brother's or mine, and you shall be the one made scarce." Was this an empty threat? Oh, how easily he had taken land from her. Would this end here? Would the madness end with her 'gift' to him? No. Kida felt, deep in the pit of her soul, that this would never end.
"Release me. Or kill me. I grow tierd of staring up into your face." Face held placid, she awaited his next move. She only hoped Kane wouldn't jump in. She had finally made a friend, she didn't want to loose him now.

A smirk of satisfaction spread across his evil but handsome face. With a low growl, he released the tigress and backed away silently, standing tall and glaring at the other male. "Beat it, chief. And don't come back." Daedalus then sat roughly in the grass and licked the blood off his claws. Seeing that Kida still hadn't stood up, he rolled his firy orange eyes and sauntered over to her. "You'd better get up before I change my mind, you know." He said levely, and grabbed her by the scruff, pulling the tigress to her paws. The siberian did this with barely any effort, and shouldered her toward the borders. He stood, eyeing them coldly, hackles raised and fangs bared in a threatening gesture.
